So basically, here's what has to be done. I have a Haynes manual as a source for torque specs. Which is the first of the projects I tackled. Various axle repairs (which I'll cover in drivelines.) And a serious rear main seal failure. So my medium sized truck has turned into a series of fixit projects. (turns out that the front input shaft seal, the one that is where the transfer case mates to the trannie, is also leaking.)

I really like my truck-runs & drives really well, doesn't seem to use much oil (tho it does seem to use coolant.) Engine pings (we'll get to that in a minute or so) and when I got it home, I noticed that it was leaving oil spots on the cement floor of the carport. Paid too much because it's a nice truck and I was buying from a friend. It's a '96 club cab, 4x4, 5.2 engine, automatic. I bought my truck last summer from a close family friend up in Western WA.
